Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern all work carried out by SJH & Sons (“we”, “us”, “our”), a family-run construction company based in Cardiff, United Kingdom. By engaging our services, you (“the Client”) agree to be bound by these terms.

 

2. Services
We provide carpentry, construction, and building services including (but not limited to) home extensions, loft conversions, bathroom renovations, property renovations, joinery work, and general building projects.

 

3. Quotations & Contracts

  • All quotations are valid for 30 days.

  • A written contract or confirmed order is required before work commences.

  • Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be confirmed in writing and may incur additional costs.

4. Payment Terms

  • A deposit (usually 25–40%) is required to secure the project.

  • Stage payments will be agreed in advance.

  • Final payment is due on satisfactory completion of the works.

  • We accept bank transfer and other agreed payment methods.

5. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:

  • Provide clear access to the property and ensure the site is safe and ready for work.

  • Obtain any necessary planning permissions or building regulations approval (unless we have specifically agreed to handle this).

  • Make timely decisions when required.

6. Project Timeline
We will provide an estimated start and completion date. While we make every effort to meet these dates, unforeseen circumstances (weather, material delays, etc.) may affect the schedule.

 

7. Warranty
All new workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, subject to fair wear and tear and correct maintenance. This does not cover materials supplied by the client.

 

8. Liability
Our total liability under any contract shall not exceed the value of the works carried out. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

 

9. Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing. Deposits may be refunded minus any costs already incurred (design fees, materials ordered, etc.).

 

10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
